The Design:

Safety, resale, comfort, and overall value are built-in to every basement that we do. But then again, any contractor can say that. Here’s the difference with Those Basement Guys:

• We first schedule a “meet and measure” visit where we better understand your needs and wants.
• Our engineering staff will then generate anywhere from 2 to 3 different design layouts on our computer software back at the office.
• We also ensure that we meet all the necessary requirements of your local township. Our (ICC).
• An entire job cost summary is generated listing the materials, labor, etc.
• We then return to your home and present these various options to you with pricing, for your consideration.

This is a FREE service. We do not charge for this effort, regardless if you decide to do it or not.

The Installation:

Aside from all the insurance certificates and proof of liability coverage, our installers will construct your finished basement in strict compliance with our detailed engineering design package.

When it comes to basements, there are 5 areas requiring special attention that most small independent contractors tend to overlook with basements:

• Moisture, mold, and mildew issues
• Air handling and proper insulation
• Egresses (fire safety)
• Proper lighting (forethought of proper electrical schematics)
• Structural considerations

Our installation method is the essential ingredient to the job being done right. For instance, we find most contractors completely misunderstand the proper application of a moisture barrier and its relation to air handling.

The Do-it-yourselfers: Don’t let him do it! Have him build a shed instead. There’s more to remodeling your basement than just about any other type of home improvement. Unfortunately, many weekend warriors underestimate the magnitude of this major remodeling project. Either they run out of time, or run out of ambition. Either way, we are usually called in on a rescue mission where we typically undo what was done – resulting in a higher expense to the homeowner.
